Me and my wife both are working professionals and have to be at work by 8:00 Am. It takes us one hour drive from our home. So far our son goes to a day care where we drop him 7:00 Am in the morning and pick him back at 6:30 PM. Since the elementary school timings are from 8:00 AM, I was wondering how do other people manage. We live in Scotch Plains, NJ

  1. Some day care providers have transportation for school-age kids. You would just drop off/pick up at the day care as usual.

In addition, some schools have before/after school care. It usually starts at 6 am and ends at 6 pm but not every school has that available.

Another place to check out would be your communities Boys and Girls Club or YMCA if they have care and provide transportation.

If there are neighbors with children your son's age, maybe they could take care of the morning hour. I would think the evening might be more difficult for this option just because they might have family doings of their own to take care of.

Good luck, I hope these suggestions help. :)

  2. A lot of the day cares around us provide transportation to and from the schools. Some elementary schools have before care and after care programs. Check with the school's office and your district's office for programs.

  3. My school had a morning daycare that started at 630am, you should see if that is offered. But otherwise you might try asking a neighbor with a child of similar age to drop him off, or he could ride the bus, you might want to check, though, if his school requires you to walk him to the bus stop. this may or may not be a hassle for you and your wife.

I hope this helps! good luck!

  4. maybe you can drop him off at 7:00 at a friend's house...?

    good luck!

  5. At my old school we had a morning daycare...check if they have one at that school... or as already suggested you can drop him off at a friends house who doesn't mind bringing him to school or one of his classmates house..GOod luck!
