My son will be graduating college and moving for new job, is it ok to have house warming shower? & grad party?

I have sent out announcements of his accomplishments and allready he is receiving congrads gifts, is a going away party shower ok

  1. of course, but why would he want to receive house warming gifts at his old place. that's just more stuff to move/pack.


  2. A party is completely appropriate. It is a big occasion for your family. I would have your son register at a couple of stores (Crate and Barrel, Best Buy, and/or Target). That way he can choose things that he actually needs for his new home. Also, people can have the gifts sent to his new place and the registry can be referred to all year long (birthday, Christmas etc.)

  4. Graduation party sounds OK--but are you trying to furnish his house from these same invitees??   If the gifts are home oriented, then that is how this comes across--It almost sounds like you're trying to get a graduation money gift, plus a house warming gift==Pretty cheezy!!!
