  1. Growing pains, gas, a burp, teething!

  2. Might be teething, I would try baby orajel if he is slobbering more than usual. Also feel his gums for hard knots.

  3. He's just going through a stage. Try using lavender in his bath soap before bedtime. It'll relax him. He could also be teething early!

  4. My son did the same thing at that age.  He just would not sleep in his crib.  My doctor suggested swaddling him.  She said even older babies like to be swaddled.  It worked!  I had to get a slightly bigger blanket than a receiving blanket, but they also make swaddling blankets with velcro or snaps.  We also turned the air conditioning up so he wouldn't get too warm.  He has been sleeping in his crib ever since ( it's been 1 month ).   I should add that I do not tuck his arms in though, he likes them out so he can suck his fingers.

  5. It may be a growth spurt.  Whenever my son would hit one he'd be up every two hours nursing.

While it's uncommon, some babies teeth at a young age as well.  Can you feel any nubs on his bottom front gums?

Also gas can make a little one uncomfy when they lay down.  Whenever I'd hit a bout of unexplained crying I'd usually try some Mylicon gas drops and often times that would work.

Lastly, ear infections don't always produce a temperature.  Has he been fussier than usual during the day?  Is he napping ok?  If he's not, than you may want to bring him to his pedi to make sure it isn't that.

Good luck mama, so much of parenting is just a guessing game!  Especially when they are so little and can't tell us what's wrong.  I just wish there was some baby interpreter!  :)

  6. Could be teething, growth spurt.

He might need his own room/space.

  7. I think he's just going through a growth spurt.  Most babies that age haven't gotten their teeth yet, but 3 months is a mark of a growth spurt.  Wait it out a few nights and see how he goes before you start pumping him full of meds.  Good luck!

  8. Who knows - he could be teething, having a growth spurt...I have even heard that prior to learning a new "milestone", babies will sometimes not sleep as well because their brains are so busy.

Or maybe it is just a phase he is going through for no particular reason. It happens...my daughter has slept through the night (in general) since around 2 months, but every now and then we get a rough couple of nights or a week or so, where things suddenly get awful. It always gets better again though - don't worry!

Just keep trying to be consistent in your routines...and be patient. Things will be back to normal before you know it.

  9. What's his napping been like the last two days? Has he been sleeping more than usual? Is he gassy or acting like he's in pain? Are you sure that he's not still hungry? What do you do to get him to sleep?

Some nights my 7 month old goes down without a problem, and then other nights he fights it until the end. What has helped me is that I slowly rock him in my arms and pat his tush. It makes him so sleepy. Make sure there isn't any stimuli around that would excite him. Often times when they're that young it could just be a growth spurt. It seems my son goes through growth spurts for a couple days and sometimes he just wants to sleep all the time and other times he doesn't want to sleep. It always ends up being just a phase. Stick to your regular bedtime routines. We always do play time, bath, bottle, and "quiet" time with mom and dad on our bed to wind him down. It works like a charm and he sleeps all night every night. I hope that helps.
