when you try to lock doors (electric locks) screeching sound and never locks drivers door. Gas gauge never settles down, moves all over the place. Any ideas?

  1. for the locks the only thing you have to do is replace the automatic door lock motor that is install inside the door panel, it only cost around $40 and you can go like to those places where you can get the radio installation or tint windows etc, they may have it and it not have to be the original.

For the gas gauge i just say you need to change it

  2. sounds like your son can do with a new car for his bday..

  3. The fuel gauge problem would just be a bad sensor, Cheaply replaceable, or he could get a aftermarket fuel guage which would come with a new sender/sensor,

The doors have a thin metal pole that when you unlock the door "pops" The lock, That wire is probably bent, Fabricate that if you can. (or get one made up) or get on from a wreckers, if its not bent it could be rubbing on something, try spraying some wd40 or similar on it
