He says that he'll pay me to come over and clean it all up.....He has mounds and mounds of clothes and junk all over the house....the bathroom and kitchen are gross. Any tips on how I should attack this mess?

  1. repeatedly tell him to clean his house..or your gonna make him do it when you come over

  2. Make 3 piles - 1 for trash, 1 for give away items, and 1 for keeping items.

Then, once you have the piles - take the trash out, take the give away items to a local charity (better to do this than to call them to have them pick it up - this way, you can go ahead and get rid of it right away), and then you should have plenty of room for putting the "keep" items away.

Get rid of anything that he hasn't used in a long time.  If he hasn't missed it - there's no need to keep it.  The more you keep, the more clutter he will have in the long run.

Try to make sure everything has a place.  This way, when he puts things away in the future, he will know exactly where it goes.

  3. well do it room buy room. clear all the dirty clothes and put the aside then get all the rubbish in a black sack. then hoover then change the bed covers and clean all the surfaces and re arrange all the clothes in his wadrobe and his products. then do his bed then move on to the nect room buy the end you will have heaps of rubbish and loads of landaury. once you finished then put away the clothes and then mop any of the non carpeted floors BUT hoover the non carpit floors before mopping.

    good luck

p.s. use a LOT of bleach AND incents so the house smells fresh.

  4. I always stack everything that needs to be done in the center of the room then attack and sort the pile.

  5. Maby you should rather attack your son!!!

  6. always start on something! don't start here...then move to there and then back to there....make sure if u start on a room finish it before you start another.

i would just pick a spot and start it....

also he is ha guy...so there may be another mess after you have already cleaned it up...after you get it under controle teaching him how to keep it that way will be another task.

    good luck tho. :D

  7. get a big pushing broom. sweep everything into a huge pile in the middle of the floor .... and LIGHT IT ALL ON FIRE.. j/k go through it all and make piles in the room. like ... TRASH, CLOTHS, OTHER JUNK. I have a messy sister and this works pretty well.

  8. Since it's family... money up front.

Other than that, one room at a time. Personally, I'd tackle the bathroom first. It's likely you'll want to use it while you're there and it would be nice if it was sanitary. Remove clothes to the washing area but save the actual washing until later as there probably won't be anywhere clean to put them away. Remove garbage next. I would save the kitchen for last as you'll likely be going through there many times getting cleaning supplies, emptying trash etc.

  9. Look at only one room at a time. Then scope out a designated area of the room. Tape it off if you need to and then just do that area until EVERYTHING is out of that area. Then move onto another area.

  10. NO be strict make him do it himself tell him that ure not always going to be around to clean all his mess up u cant just let him get away!

  11. Well first, put all the clothes into a pile and put that pile to the side.

Wipe down all the doors, seats, wooden and glass surfaces.

    Vacuum rugs, curtains.

    Ajax the bathroom down.

Wash the dishes, wipe down the counter and stovetop, sweep the floor.

    Organize the shoes.

Separate all the clothes into stacks: wash/dryclean/hang up.

Hang up the clean ones, take the dryclean only ones to the drycleaners, start washing the ones that are dirty.

Then, sweep and mop the floor.

    Take all the trash out.

  12. one room at a time.

start with the clothes, chuck them in the washing machine  then start on something different that wont stress you out too much. Take breaks often and don't push yourself too hard. With the kitchen, fill up the sink with water and chuck dishes in to let them soak for a bit before trying to get any food off of them. Get rid of any unnessesary junk lying around and if there isnt enough room to put everything then store things in boxes and let your son worry about it and organise it when he comes home.Take the trash out early so you wont have to worry about it later on. If you get stressed, turn on some music to calm you down or watch something on tv then get back to work. Most of all, have fun!

  13. one room at the time , collect all the dirty laundry and put them to wash in the mean time clean the rooms . I wouldn't take the money instead I would make it a day to spend together cleaning and teaching him how to keep it clean .

  14. First of all you should have your son help you so he can see what it takes to clean that mess and perhaps he will think twice before he makes a mess again.  Then make room in one area and make different piles remove everything from the counter tops tables get rid of garbage right away then start with the room closest to the door.  then work your way back I always start with the kitchen, then dinning room, living room, bathroom, bed rooms like I said the first thing you do grab a garbage bag and start throwing away all garbage from all the rooms.  Good luck he is very fortunate to have a mom like you; my mother would have sent him to **** and given him a good kick in the but.  I hope after all this he takes you out for a nice dinner or something !!

  15. you shouldn't. Make him learn responsibility. What are you gonna do next? Wipe his *** and change his underpants?

  16. If he likes wallowing in his own filth... leave him... If you go in to clean for him... he'll be a slob all his life.

  17. uses the bucket to pour jerk

  18. rubber gloves, good music, and lots of cleaning supplies.

  19. Your son should be responsible for his own house
