Then Jesus called his disciples together and said unto them: "What about you? Whom do you say that I am?"

They answered him, saying, "You are the Christ, the eschatological manifestation of the kerygma that is the ground of our being, whose meaning we discover in our interpersonal relationships."

And Jesus said unto them, "What?"

  1. Dang dude, how old is your kid?  His teacher quoted that and he remembered it?  My 10 yr old woulnd't remember Mary had a little lamb by the time she got home from school!!

  2. I have never heard or read anything exactly like that. The only time I know of Jesus asking his disciples that is in Matthew 16, specifically verse 13...I think your son's teacher was either a bit mistaken or quoting from a translation that I have certainly never heard of...it makes no sense to me. What kind of teacher was quoting this to your son? I would probably talk to the teacher to find out the specific source if I were you...best wishes!

You can follow this link to check out this (or any other) bible verse if you want...it is set for NIV, but you can change the translation/version to see how it could be rephrased
