  1. Depends on which camcorder you are using - if miniDV tape, you still need firewire connecting the DV port to the firewire port on your camcorder. The camcorder needs to be in "Play/Edt" mode. Launch MovieMaker (Windows) and "capture" the video or iMovieHD (Macintosh) and "Import" the video. USB won't work.
