and he recognizes the urge to pee and tells us -sometimes after the fact but you know how that goes. As far as pooping-he doesn't tell us and continues to sneak away and hide. It seems like he is embarassed by it. Last night he pooped in our closet b/c he wasn't wearing a diaper and he blamed it on the cat. I think I am just gently reminding him that if he has to go poopie that he should tell us and that way his underpants won't get dirty. Any other suggestions?

  1. We are potty training our 2 year old currently.  Just have lots of patience. It's not easy.  But I did recieve a DVD in the mail the other day.. Its free and has some useful advice.

It has coupons and everything.  Good luck.

  2. It might be a good idea to get a potty trainer seat for your toilet and take him there after his meals.  Treat him like a 'big boy' now.  He will think it's 'special' to go to the grown ups toilet.

I used to take my children into the bathroom and read to them while they sat there.  It worked every time!

He will soon start to recognise the signs that ne needs to go - have patience - not many kids start school wearing diapers!

I love his sense of humour - blaming it on the cat.  LOL!

  3. Hi, My son started pooping in then toilet only when he was 4 and a half years old. I used to constantly worry that he was using a pull up to p**p, though he was peeing in the toilet from the age of 2 and a half. i had posted queries in this site about this. I tried all the suggestions given by other users. But nothing worked. One fine morning, I went shopping with my son, he saw a particular toilet seat at the store he pestered me to buy it, I bought it, we came home, he sat on it and pooped!!! It was entirely his decision. I don't know what came over him all of a sudden. So don't worry, be patient.
