  1. Chance are your 6x9s already have tweeters and adding additional tweeters not benificial. There are acouple of problems you will run into. The first problem is that adding those tweeters will require some sort of passive cross over(bass blocker) or electronic crossover. Passive crossovers(bass blockers) create static and other unwanted noise so if you want a clear system this is not the way. The second problem is that adding tweeters to a set of 6x9s that already have tweeters will decrease overall sound quality because the tweeters are not alike and will interfer with each other insted of working together. The 6x9s are sufficient if they have tweeters. If the front speakers do not have tweeters you should get some that do instead of adding seperate tweeters.

To put it simple adding individual tweeters in not a good idea if you want a clear system. Using a good set of small speakers with built in tweeters or Component sets are the cleares way to go. Component sets are the best, they have individual tweeters but they include very expensive highly advanced crossovers that are only available when you buy the componet set. Forget about those tweeters.

  2. Phillup is on the money, btw, Type R's are like the most power hungry speakers you'll ever see in your life so you would need a really good amp for them as well.
