I looked it up on the internet and it says living in the household for the duration of homeowners absence but I doubt thats what he means. I wasn't in at the time so my grandma took the message, but before I phone him back I need to know what housesitting is, what can be expected for pay, as well as what exactly it entails. I have oviously never done this before so I don't want to sound like I am completely clueless. Have you ever house sit? how was it? what did you do? have you ever hired a housesitter? what do you expect from those that you hire?

  1. ok its not a big deal. you just do what they say. sometimes its like you just make sure everything is cool, and sometimes they want u to water plants and feed their cats or something. just him what he wants u to do exactly.. :]

  2. Generally, people don't expect you to sleep there. They just want you to check on the house to make sure everything is OK. Such as Burst pipes. Intruder, collecting mail.

  3. Water the plants, feed the animals, take in the news paper, and take in the mail.

      Nothing hard

  4. Bring in the mail, water flowers, take care of pets ect. He will tell you what he wants done. It's money for doing very little work basically.

  5. It means like taking care of the house, making sure noone robs the place and like it doesnt burn down. So Your spanish teacher wants you to watch his house for him while your gone

  6. Well that is basically what it is! You "watch" his house, keep it up, feed the pets, water the lawn, and all that good stuff. It seems might strange that your Spanish teacher would call you for that.

  7. watch out... u mite get locked in basement for 18 yrs...

who the h**l in the rite mind would ask a kid to house watch?  unless he's perverted.  or he knows u well enough to trust u

  8. you stay at a perosns house or visit every day water their plants... feed their animals ect.

if they asked you it means they really trust you!

  9. i've housitted before, i wasn't paid, but she filled the fridge up with tons of food, and got me some chocolates. You just live in their house while they're away, if they've got pets you look after them. It's just so they can relax knowing they're less likely to get burgled, or it's cheaper than using kennels for the pets

  10. When you housesit you just stay at they're house why they are out of town to help water plants and feed pets etc.  Some people just want you to stop by others want you to stay over you have to ask if he needs you to stay over or drop by and take care of things most mean stay over though.  Just ask him for details and how much he is wanting to pay.  Depends where you live for how much it could cost if there are pets ask local boarding places what they charge.

  11. housesitting is looking after someone's house.

you get their mail, feed their pets, and make sure no one steals anything. sometimes you have to sleep there.

there's no cleaning involved, unless you make a mess of their house

  12. just staying there..either just stopping during the day or maybe even spending the night, if there is animals feed them/play with them..pay would all depend upon the person i guess..they pretty much just want their house to be kept the same way it was when they left i guess to put it simply. you should take that as a HUGE compliment though, having anyone (LET ALONE YOUR TEACHER) ask you to do that really shows how responsible  & trustworthy your viewed as

  13. it means he wants u to watch over his house y hes gone u know keep up with little 4 example water plants feed fish ext

  14. You just chill in his house and watch his stuff and take care of any animals he has. Make sure to get all the details before agreeing to anything.

  15. When I have a housesitter, I expect them to do the things that need doing while I am gone.  I don't expect that they have to actually live in the house.

I want them to bring in the mail and newspapers, water my house plants and yard.

It is more about having someone coming and going at odd times and not having mail or newspapers accumulating so it isn't evident that the house is empty.  Turn on the porch light at night and off in the morning sometimes.  Otherwise you attract someone to break into your house while you are gone.

If he has pets, there may be some more specific duties that involve them.

  16. i don't think this is something that is appropriate for a student/teacher relationship

at any rate - you would live in the house while he is away and make sure nobody breaks in / feed the dog - cat - fish / and basically just keep an eye out for the house -

  17. It means that you occupy the house for the time the owner is away. Keep things clean, keep lights on, so no one knows the owner is "away"

  18. House sitting is when you just go check up on the house while the owners are gone. He may want you to water is garden or dust of some items. Just look around and make sure nothing strange is going on.

  19. to like watch someones house while they are gone . this means like water their plants and all that stuff . wel the pay all depends on how long they are gone adn how well you do. hope i helped best answer please :]

  20. Its kinda like taking care of the house, you clean really.

  21. He eithr wants you to stay there, or maybe just stop by every couple of days, water the plants, bring in the newspapers, etc.  He'll probably leave you a list or you can discuss it when you talk to him.  Make sure you write it down so you don't forget anything.

  22. stay in the house make sure nothin get damaged and no one brakes in lol

  23. house sitting is like baby sitting except you watch the house and make sure no robbers come or something.  so it seems somebody is home.

  24. take care of the house pets plants ect.

  25. it may mean to watch his pets or something. It's exactly what it sounds like, but ask him what the responsibilites include. What does he exactly want you to do?

As far as pay, he may not want to offer you any money, but if he does, it won't be much

  26. Watching after the house, keeping it clean and safe, watering plants, feeding pets, etc.

  27. water the lawn water the plants turn lights off and on take in the mail/paper   dont go thru my stuff no parties no friends dont use my phone for long distance calls   30.00 bucks for the week

  28. yes that is what housesitting means. You live there while they are gone. You take care of house, yard, pets etc. You want to make sure to respect their stuff, clean up, no parties etc. For pay, I would say anywhere from $100 to $250 a week. I have never had someone housesit for me. GL

  29. housesitting is when you take care of the house when are gone or not there for a period of time and i am not sure but i think you are supposed to water there plants and just clean up  and stuff im not sure but thats what i think sorry

  30. Just literally looking after the house. Go around every day and tend to the plants and pets if they have any, and sometimes keeping it clean and free of dirt and dust. make sure everything is running smoothly basically.

  31. Its when someone goes somewhere like on vacation and you stay at their house or check on it every day and take care of it.
