i just installed a newer better amp than i use to have. (now i have a kicker ZX350.2) i used all the same connections i had with my old speaker amp, but now my speakers buzz. it buzzes louder when i turn my headlights on. it also whines, i think cause of the something to do with the alternater.

i think it could be my ground connection. could a newer more powerful amp need a better ground?? can a bad ground connection be the problem making my speakers buzz and whine with the alternater??

thanks for all your answers!

  1. You may need a bigger ground wire or bigger power wire also. How many watts rms is the amp and what guage wire you have

  2. Odds are it's your ground, a better ground should stop it. Also if you have a stock head unit it will do that. I'm very familiar with Kicker amplifiers and i've known people with this problem. Also you could try adjusting your cross over and cross over frequency.
