Question:

My speakers aren't working?

About two days ago my speakers stopped working. I was listening to music quite loudly but not at maximum volume and then they just cut out. My friend said they might've blown but I doubt it.

I've tried restarting, muting and unmuting, turning the speakers on and off, turning up and down the volume; but nothing works.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is and how I could fix it?

Cheers. ^^

  1. try moving them with ur hand by pushing it slowy if they dont move there blown sorry

  2. Probably the wirings or plug is destroyed or something like that. You may fix it to a technician or buy another (if you don't value the old one).

  3. You have two ways    1-  to buy another one

2- to ask someone can fix your speakers

I hope u can find a way to fix it

  4. first check if its the speakers that are busted...

it could be the source where you plug the speakers

try using a known working speakers or headphones to check

  5. try removing your speaker and use it to a Walkman or ipod if it works the problem are in your computer.. but if it does not work probably the speaker it self is the problem just replace it with new one..

  6. I suppose the first thing you should do is plug in a set of headphones into the speaker output to make sure that your computer's sound card is working properly.  If so, check with another pair of speakers. That would rule out anything to do with the computer, and point to the speakers.  If it's the computer, then you'll have to go into the volume control and make sure all of your settings are correct (obviously you've checked the mute, unmute, etc...) You may have to check the drivers on the sound card or reinstall the drivers from a computer restart disk, or storage on the hard drive.

    I hope this helps.

  7. Hi there.

Get another set of speakers from another stereo in the house (or get a friend to bring a pair around) and try them out with your system. If they work, your speakers are blown and you will need a new set. If the other set don't work either, the speaker circuit in your stereo is blown and it is a repair job (or a new system job if repairs are too pricey!).

I suspect your stereo, as it is rare for both speakers to blow together.

    good luck, Steve.
