My speakers crackle! It's not the connection, as I have checked AND cleaned it, and they are brand new.?

altec lansing speakers, not sure about the specs on the pc... only crackles after 3 - 5 minutes of use, and will stop when I turn the audio down, but I don't really have it up that loud to begin with! I've checked the audio manager, and it's only half way, and I can only have the audio up to about 9% on winamp to not hear the crackle, but I suspect that's because I can't hear over the tapping of my keys. :P Any help would be appreciated.

  1. plug the speakers in to something with more watts. One example of the crackel is a cheap car radio that pushes 10 watts pluged into speakers with 80 minimum capacity. If you plug those speakers into say a home stero system they should sound better then you know what the problem is. Also another thing that can cause that is cabeling.
