My speakers don't work ??

Question

I have windows xp. My speakers are turned on and plugged in but 'my computer' says that there is no audio device. I tryed downloading all the drivers for it and it still doesn't work. I tried my speakers in another computer and they work. is there anything i could do??

go to the website of the computer ex. Dell, HP and search for sound or audio driver.

start>all programs> control panel? sounds and audio devices.

make sure your speakers arent on mute and your speakers are selected and not something else. this has happened to me before.

reinstall the audio driver. from driver cd
