i have them plugged in right now and playing some music, and only the bass part of the setup is making any sound.. muffled, and on FULL BLAST - the satellites (2 of them) have the volume, treble, and bass level k***s on them and connect to eachother and the subwoofer... theres a green light that says they are on, but sound only comes from the subwoofer part. The first few weeks i had them they worked perfectly... but just stopped making sounds one day. (setup is the Altec Lansing Multi-Purpose Speaker System... Walmart style, perhaps that is the problem ^_^)

  1. Sorry, but not enough information to give a specific answer.

I have to assume you have them connected properly and have any necessary setting correct. But this isn't necessarily true ... so check.

Are the speakers computer speakers? In other words, are they self powered (built in amplifier) or connected to a separate amplifier?

If they are computer speakers maybe the amplifier inside died ... take back for warranty repair/replacement.

If they are connected to a reciever/amplifier, do you have the speaker output selector switch correctly set?

    Is the amplifier working?

Do you have a known good input source?

The best advice I can give is to check all wiring and settings from scratch. If that doesn't help ... since they are "almost new" you can claim a replacement or repair under warranty. Take them back or contact Altec Lansing if Wal-mart won't help.
