My speeding ticket was dismissed? I want to know why..?

I paid a lawyer to represent me in court for my infraction (61MPH in a 45MPH Zone), I received the paperwork by mail and as I read along; it states my ticket was dismissed, and on the disposition it says "DISMISSED WRONG STAT". What does that mean?

Don't get me wrong, I'm static at the fact it was dismissed. I would just like to know the reason for dismissal :)

Thank you.

  1. STAT is probably an abbreviation for "statute".

Apparently, the officer wrote the wrong statute down, and your attorney caught it.

  2. INNOCENT BY REASON OF CUTENESS

  3. pobably the officer writing the ticket cited the incorrect statute when writing the ticket. so there fore it cant be held against you as he cited the wrong reason.

  4. lol nice, yeah probably the cop f-ed up!

  5. I hope you are ecstatic and NOT static about your ticket being dismissed.
