My speedometer is broken, whats wrong or what should i do?

i just replaced the stock stereo in my car, and the speedometer no longer works. It worked find before i changed out the stereo. And now i dont know whats wrong. The speedometer only moves when my music is loud. The louder the music, the higher the speedometer goes, and as the music goes quiet the speedometer, speedometer decreases. Any ideas? Thanks

well it would help if people mention what car they have

some cars have that stupid volume control system in them(louder car gets its adjusts volume level)   but always use a good new ground short and thick  never use the thin crappy ground from the stock harness (there are exceptions)

Sounds like a ground issue you may have tapped into one of your speedo  wires.

If you know what your doing take it back out and look at it other wise take it to a stereo install shop

It seems you got something very wrong, did you use a harness for your car, or did you just cut wires and guess? Could you mention what you have for a car.
