It takes him a couple of hours each morning to get going. He gets up, is nauseated and must make multiple trips to the bathroom. Is this normal? We had hoped losing the weight would make our lives more enjoyable.

  1. I would suggest that he see his Dr. ASAP. If he is in a support group, he could ask there. I'm almost 5 months out and haven't had any problems even close to that.

  2. no, it's not normal, throwing up that frequently after gastric bypass is damaging (well, for anyone), he needs to consult his doctor immediately

  3. NO, that is defintiely not normal.  He needs to see his surgeon ASAP.  I've never know a Gastric patient to feel "nauseated" when waking up. What is he eating?  Is he sticking with his diet?  Sounds like he's eating porrly and dumping!

I'm 10 months out from my surgery and attend weekly support group meeting with over 50 patients some as far as 10 years out of surgery.
