  1. Divorce her and go where you want.

  2. Try Sorrento, close to Pompeii

  3. I can't really tell about the accomodation but I can tell that Sicily can be the most beautiful palce to visit! I bet ur spouse will love it!

  4. I think your spouce is wonderful. Look at Venere.com there's loads of accomodation all over Italy. If you'ver been to Venice, Florence, Rome, Milan, Padua, Sienna, Verona and Naples why not try the lakes or the Italian seaside?

  5. I don't know where you are from, but if you are from the United States, why not keep your travel dollars right here in the states?  Why should we spend our hard earned money in countries that want nothing from us except for our money?  There are 50 states right here to see and wonderful things to see and do in each state, just research it.  My grandmother traveled to each state of the US before she passed except for Alaska. I hope to see all the states as well and bring home a little bit of each state to store in my memory box.

  6. Irishman in Italy here.

It depends what you want. The lakes (Garda, Como, and Maggiore) are a good bet, plus no problems finding hotels. Milan is a toilet, avoid it. Firenze (Florence) is beautiful but so INCREDIBLY hot and humid in the summer. Rome will take your breath away, but hotels are very very expensive. Venice...yeah, see it, but don't break your neck to do so. Naples is very beautiful too, but be prepared to pay 8 times what the locals pay for a beer. I'd suggest anywhere in Umbria, but make a point of visiting Assisi, Gubbio and Perugia in particular. All fabulous.

The south...hmmm...beautiful, but the third world. Prepare yourself for NO services and having your car stripped bare for spare parts in minutes three if you go there.

    Good luck.

  7. I'm like your spouse I love Italy and rarely go anywhere else. Different parts of the country offer very diverse experiences. We are off to Sardinia soon but one of my favourite parts of Italy is Sicily.

In Sicily- stay in Mondello, near Palermo. Mondello is a small, pretty fishing village with lovely restaurants and a small piazza where you can have a drink. You can rent a boat, swim, relax. Take a drive up into the hills there is a great village called Erice with a magnificent church. Go into Palermo, Via Roma is the best shopping street.

  8. go wherever you want, stay in the place you choose, eat what you prefere, no matter what, you'll enjoy your stay! your wife is right!!

  9. We just went to Milan, Lake Como, Venice, Lucca, Cinque terre, San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence and Rome last summer.

You can't go wrong with that.

Eat well and lots of gelato!!

  10. Well, a romantic place to go in Italy would be Venice. It is great to get on a boat and kiss under every bridge you pass ... If you want cultural trips, you can always go to Rome,or Firenze.

Where to stay ? Well, it depends on how much you can afford...In Venice I spent the night in a 1-star "hotel" that costed 50 bucks for person...So I would suggest you to search and compare prices before you book (unless you can afford to book a reservation at the Ritz or the Four Seasons without second though).

Where to eat ? Well, I hope you like pizza and pasta...You'll be getting sick of seeing pasta and pizza by the fourth day you spend in Ialy. Restaurants are not very expensive as far as the meals are concerned, but they are extremely expensive when it comes to drinks (and I'm not talking about expensive wines ...even the price of a simple bottle of water is a robbery compared to the price of te meals).

Well, I hope you enjoy staying in Italy!
