I first switched batteries with a known good one and it turned over like it should. After driving it for a day it still would just barely turn over. Later the I charged the battery and it turned over like it should but loose power later. I would assume that the alternator is going out but I have the normal voltage reading and I don't have a check engine light. Could this be some other problem?

  2. clean out your alternator, if there is too much dust and grime in the alternator, than it will cause it to slow down not maintaining the voltage.
