My stereo speakers are cracking on the passenger side (front and back).?

Question

I checked the impedance with a multimeter. Both Speakers have the correct resistance. Can the speakers still be bad, even if the impedance is correct? The car is 15 yrs old.

it sounds like you blew your speakers...  kinda like a short in the system.

if you get another set or even one and wire it up... and it plays good, you blew the speakers.

Check the wires themselves...there may be a break.

the cones might have tears in them (15 years of getting wrattled about, cooked in the summer/frozen in the winter), take them out and have a look...
