ok so im a 14 year old girl, for the past like, 6 months, I've been having stomach pains a lot. it gets really extreme whenever it hurts. like i can barely walk or talk. whenever it hurts i just have to lay down and not move. it would usually last like an hour, depending on where i am and when. but its really random too. like, it hasn't happened in about a month. but before it would hurt that bad like once every week.

if i try to think of the place where it hurts, its mostly in the middle of my abdomen, the area that like you would have a 6 pack (i don't know what the muscles are called) and more in the upper area. i don't really feel sick and theres not any other side effects other than it hurting really bad.

so my mom said that the next time it hurts she's gonna take me to the doctor to get it checked and i dont want anything to be wrong so im really hoping it keeps feeling okay. but if any of you have any ideas of what's wrong, can u tell me? thanks :]

  1. you said that it was in your middle of your abdominal. i believe it can be colitis, appendicitis, pancreatitis, or diverticulitis. I had the exact same thing and the doctor told me it was colitis. Go to your doctor.

  2. have you been having any stress lately? do you notice it when you eat certain kinds of food (spicy, greasy, oily, etc.)?

i would get it looked at anyhow. could be anything from an ulcer to acid reflux disease. all treatable with meds from the doctor.

  3. Do you have periods yet?  Sounds like it could be menstrual cramps.  Also gas can cause all kinds of aches and pains.  Next time it happens try taking an antacid like tums.  See if that helps.  If it doesn't then you know its not gas or heartburn.

  4. You usually do feel a little sick when you have stomach pains...

I was about to say maybe it was an ulcer considering it hurts in your stomach area, but that's not it since it went away.

It's a medical mystery. But even if you're not in pain, you should still be checked out by your doctor just in case this happens again and you'll know what it is.
