He's an idiot, I know.

Now it's locked and we've tried every combination possible.

Is there a way to reset the iPod or something so he can still listen?

  1. i'm pretty sure if you connect it to the computer it should unlock...if not sorry :)

  2. don't worry my friend. its not at all a big problem.

ofcourse i got the same problem with my ipod and worried a lot and then finally kept cool, connected it to my computer and surfed through all its folders and i easily opened it.

here is how u can unlock..

    1.first connect u'r ipod to a computer.

2.go to my computer and open u'r connected device(i.e. u'r ipod).

3.then enable "view hidden files" option and look for a hidden file----          iPod_Control

4.then go to a folder Device.

5.look for a file named '_locked' and rename it to '_unlocked'.

6.thats it u'r brothers ipod can get resetted easily.

ofcourse my ipod is classic80gb. i don't know where htis folder '_locked' will be there, but for any ipod, inorder to unlock it, just search for the file '_locked' and rename it to '_unlocked'.

    thanks to me....if it works....:-)

  3. try restarting it the songs will go way but it will get fixed

  4. only way is to go back to the apple store.

they can reset it for you.

  5. What you have to do is restore it. where you plug it into itunes and then hold the power and play button down and it will restore it. but you will lose everything on your ipod

  6. Pretty sure the only way to fix this is to do a factory reset via iTunes.  Note that this will erase any files on the iPod.

  7. you could prob hold the menu and center button down at the same time. I'm not to sure if that would work (would'nt hurt to try.)  it doesn't erase anything.

  8. Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.

If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.

If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this:

    1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.

    2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
