I just installed every component of my amp and my subwoofer. I know that my amp is getting power cause the green light is on. so there has to be a problem between the amp and the subs. I have a factory radio in my 96 mercury sable so I had to by a line output converter for my back speakers to give a signal to the rca cables. Im not sure if i screewed that up or not. Any advice on things I should try would be a great help! Thanks!

  1. There's technically a few things it could be.  If your line-out converter is bad then you are not getting signal at the amp.  Is your amp/sub stuff new?  if it's new then i would be looking at input to the amp being a problem first.  check and make sure line-out is plugged in correctly and wired right.  Also make sure that the speakers you tapped off of is working so you know you got output from that speakers.  if that's all set then you may have faulty amp or sub.  try connecting any other speaker to make sure that the amp doesn't work or if the sub doesn't work.

One thing you may try also is to unplug on of the rca's from the line-out and see what happens.  i have had that been issue for some reason and don't ask me why but try it anyway.   But to be honest it sounds like either the amp or the sub is toast but since i can't ur wiring i can't tell you for sure.
