My sub will bump then stop then bump again help!!!?

ok i had 2 xtant subs hooked up and for months they worked fine off my 250watt amp then all of a sudden they will bump then stop then try to bump then stop then go back on i thought it was the amp it wasnt i thought it was the subs nope then maybe the wires nope i hooked a brand new sub to my boys car and it did the same to him what is going on please help

Put a meter on the voice coil and check the impedence. If it is out of spec then you are jacked and your subs have burnt voice coils.
