Question:

My subs don't seem to be bassy enough?

I have a pair of 12" Kicker CVR's in their own Kicker box...hooked up to a Audio-Tek AT-1500 amp, which says it has 1400 watts of max power. But given the quality of these subs they don't seem to be gettin enough bass...Is it cause the amp isn't that great? Do amps have that big of a impact on the bassy-ness? One of my buddies said that I needed to get my amp tuned or something. Anyway as you can see, I have no idea... :(

Thanks for any help though!!

  1. 1400w max = 700w rms....700/2 = 350w to each sub.

could be the amp....could be the box. if you have a good ported box that is made for those subs, then its the amp.

  2. crank up the power on your amp. or you just might need a new one.

  3. Check if the subs are wired for a 4 ohm load. I prefer 2 ohm since you will always get more power with less resistance. A lot of off brand amps will not give what the max power rating is. I stick with alpine when it comes to amps so you will always get the exact rating if not power.
