Question:

My sunflowers have finnished blooming, i have read that i must cut the stems at ground level.?

I have now done this. But my question is why?. Will they grow again next year.

  1. Cut the stem below the lowest leaf. The balance of the stalk can absorb sunlight and grow healthier. But, I think I'm a little late to save them.


  2. really mine are still ready to come out have yours like gone over ? i have always wondered thiss aswell but make sure you cut the seeds off for next yearr ,dry them out  and plant them next year it really workss

  3. Provided your sunflower is a perennial one you  have to cut it down in October. It will regrow next year.
