i have a pair of sunglasses and one day used an alcohol wipe to clean the whole thing including the lens. So at the time i didnt notice, i did it again a while later and the next day i noticed there are these wavy striped pattern like a residue on both sides of the lenses. i can only see them in artificial light, its a mix between green and a dark purplish colour, im suspecting it involves the alcohol but any ideas if it can be fixed?

  1. idk maybe get some sunglass cleaner?

  2. You probably started to dissolve an anti-reflective coating on the lenses.  The best non-destructive way to repair the damage you did is to take them back to where you bought them, and pay them to remove the damaged coatings and re-apply them.

  3. you can try spraying a lot of cheap hairspray on it and wiping it off before it dries. you can use that to clean mirrors too.(DO NOT LET IT DRY!)
