get pissed when I went directly to that person this time with a similar question? Was I wrong? Is that considered breaking the chain of command or something?

  1. I personally think your supervisor should be clonked on the head with a blunt object.

  2. Sounds like your supervisor needs to get their priorities straight. I had a supervisor like that. Its a pain in the @ss to deal with. Just make sure document anything being told to you. You can always confront your supervisor in a professional matter about it. They shouldn't be getting pissed for something they told you to do. Its ludicrous.

    Hope this helps.
