Question:

My surfboard is 7'6, how long should my leash be?

I think i would be around 7ft or 8ft. I'm not sure though.Help..

  2. I've found that the longer the leash, the more tangled it gets. If your legs aren't that long, a 7' leash would work well, while still not getting all coiled up. I only use a 6' leash for all my boards, that includes a 6'2 fish, or 7' funboard.

  3. i would say at least 8ft if you are a beginner mainly because of safety. even though the leash may get tangled quite a few times, you dont want the board to come back at you when you fall of a wave. i have seen this happen once to one of the surfers in the line up. he was surfing a wave that was to hard for him and when he fell, the board came right back at him and broke his nose. it was not a pretty sight. but anyway, i would say an 8ft leash. hope this helps.
