My surname is Lindstrom. My boyfriend's surname is Leadbetter. Is Leadstrom or Lindbetter a good solution?

Basically is mixing up surnames a good idea or just plain crazy?

Lindstrom has a very classy and dignified sound.  It seems that you are entertaining the idea of a married name for yourself.  In these modern times, ladies often keep their maiden (surname) after marriage.  My sister did and it has been a plus for her because of her longtime business associations.

Whatever name you choose isn't an indicator of whether you love your husband more by taking his surname, or less if you keep your surname.

I think it is very unique and creative of you! I personally favor Lindbetter. I think mixing surnames is a great way to demonstate that you are now "together" and two halves that are now whole. Will be wonderful story to explain to the children and grandchildren also! Congrats!

Well you can't hyphenate names that long as with most forms you would run out of space in the last name category, so clearly the best option is to mix them up.

A very logical solution, alternativly you could compromise  with a completly new last name. Such as "batman"

Finally my Swedish is a little rusty, but isnt "Stom" Swedish for river/stream. so in effect you would be lead or poison stream. (Leadstrom)

I quite like the implications and slightly evil streak in that (you arnt bent on taking over the world in your spare time are you?)
