My surround sound's standby light comes on, but whenever I hit any button the system powers off?

I have a RCA RT2380BK surround sound. Altho it's an older model, it has worked great until recently. Any suggestions?

  1. Disconnect the power from the wall, wait a minute or so and plug it back in. This might make it work.

    If not, disconnect everything and see if the problem still exists. If so, it's time for a repair, or maybe a new unit.

    If it works with nothing connected, hook things back up one by one and check your surround system inbetween each item you add. By process of elimination, you will learn where the trouble is coming from.
