  1. 99 percent of the time when a receiver, or HTIB system says that, there's a short. What does that mean? Somewhere, the + and - wires are touching. When it senses this, it shuts down to protect itself.

They usually cross wires where you connect to the speaker, and where they actually plug into your gear. Don't touch anything, just get a good light and look. It's rare for wires anywhere else in the chain to do that, because the jacket would have to be peeled back so the bare wires can touch.

It happens usually where you plug in because that's where there's a small amount of bare wire exposed.

If there is wire touching the other, just wrap the exposed part of the wire with a piece of black electrical tape. and retry.

    Good luck.

p.s the only other issue could be heat, but that takes time. if it happens when cool, it's a short most likely.

  2. Wirings should be attach accordingly, this would make your equipments function well. Wirings usually have colors. Each color has its specific function, thus making it easy for users to attach such wirings.
