Question:

My surround sound speakers make a buzzing noise.?

I have a 5.1 surround sound with a few extra speakers hooked up to it. Ive noticed that I've been hearing some buzzing coming from the speakers when the volume is very low. At first I thought it was just speaker wires touching inside the reciever port, but found out that wasnt the problem. It is drowned out by the sound when I turn the volume up but it still bothers me. Any suggestions?

  1. What do you mean by extra speakers?

If you have hooked up more than one to each terminal or some sort of series hook up you may have damaged the amp.

  2. It could be video interference if you dont have shielded speakers, but assuming you have the right speakers near your tv, check the connections on the speakers themselves. I had a bad touchpoint on my sub and adjusting the speaker wire on the sub cleaned the noise up.  If that doesnt work, you can try a new run of speaker wire to test that the speaker itself doesnt have a problem.
