I love to jump into a refreshingly cool pool when it is hot out, but since ours is in the sun all day it heats up fast. It is a round pool 5' deep. Help

  1. Ice is the easiest.

There are heat pumps for pools, but they can be pricey...about $4000.00

I had a firend who built a shed over the pump and filter housing, and placed a portable air conditioner in the shed. He said it cooled down the pool a bit.

You can also get a thermal blanket or cover for the pool. Keep it off at night to cool down, and put it on in the morning.

  2. the easyest and chepest way is a fountian, i installd one and in two days of it running it coold the pool by 20 degrees.

  3. I live in Dallas, TX. The summer sun here is relentless. I have resorted to covering my pool with a tarp. I have installed "eye" bolts around on my fence just below the top (6ft). I suspend the tarp over the pool using bungee cords. It keeps the tarp about 6ft above the pool. This keeps the sun off the water. If I don't put the tarp up, the water gets up between 90-95 degrees. Not very refreshing. Without the tarp the water stay around 82-85, which is excellent. I bought a tarp with one side that is silver. It helps reflect the heat. It also helps to cut down on the algae buildup.

  4. Cover the pool
