  1. outward rewards for your good deeds you should not seek.  rather inward satisfaction is all you need.  true heroism is not for public display i say.

  2. Rizal was a   multi linguist, he  traveled to many countries, had  foreign girlfriends from different  countries, was  a "sobresaliente"  student.

Do you have any of those?

  3. you need to ask favor from the mayor to convince the council to built a monument for you. you should also play the game of death. when the monument is finished, come back and view your monument.

  4. because you eat only cornflakes three times a day.

Rizal ate rice and most probably had snacks and can wait an hour or two for his lunch to be prepared.

  5. I think you have to die first in order for you to get a statue erected in your honor. And also you should match the revolutionary mind of Rizal and be jailed even in Iwahig.

  6. You mean Francisco Dagohoy, the Bohol native who led the longest Philippine revolt against the Spaniards? This should be brought to the attention of the Philippine government (National Historical Institute?). Bohol should take the initiative in bringing this up.

You ask why? Maybe there's truth to what others say about Filipinos having very short historical memory. Or perhaps the "mga kaliwat ni Dagohoy" (roughly "scions of Dagohoy") have been reneging on their duty to propagate the ideals of the Boholano hero.

Btw, former Philippine President Carlos P. Garcia, also a Boholano, also received the same disregard as there was not a major national thoroughfare named after him until just a few years ago [C-5 Road in M. Manila].

  7. You have to do something really meaningful, something that will turn the tides... something that will be for the common good.

Also, you have to be persecuted, you have to prove your worth, you have to undergo yourself under fire... you have to die... you have to be famous... so that someone will take the time to build your statue.

Because, no matter how patriotic you are, if you have no fame, you'd remain unsung... =(

  8. Have yourself shot first by the firing squad of the guardia civil at the Luneta

  9. You would have a couple of options...jail or firing squad.=P

  10. Probably because your too modest.

  11. But you are famous.  And you do have a monument, a town named after you and even a school.  All Boholanos are very proud of you, as should every Filipino.  This Ilongga is aware of the longest rebellion you led and is grateful for your contributions.   MABUHAY!

  12. I guess people now are not really aware of the things other people do. They or let's just say some are too busy worrying about important things that knowing people who made a difference doesn't really seem to matter to anymore. There are many people nowadays that I can say are way greater than Rizal but nobody recognizes them because they are too worried about their own problems to notice the good things in their lives or to recognize those people who made a difference in their lives.

  13. So, build your own ;)
