I bought my tap shoes online according to the sizing guidelines (never bought capezio's before) and i really dont want to send them back because shipping is insane...any tips on making them feel a little smaller? I was thinking about using those ouch pouches for pointe (i'm not a pointe dancer) any other tips?

  1. go to Sandy's and buy a new pair

  2. You can't make your tap shoes feel smaller. Do not use the ouch pouches though, they are great for pointe, but not for much else. This is because when put in the front of a tap/jazz etc shoe, it makes the front a lot heaver. So let's say you're trying to shuffle-ball-change, when you do that you will deliberately fall over because the fronts will be so heavy. Sorry! I would try selling them to make the money back and buy new ones :)

    Good Luck!

  3. I wouldn't suggest using ouch pouches. If they are a little too big all around, then you could put on a pair of socks. That is what people at my studio do.

    Hope I helped!

  4. I wear  character shoes and they are also too big. I have found that slipping in a pair of pointe shoe pads works wonderfully for fitting too big shoes!

    good luck!
