  1. Its normal later it'll be itching too.

  2. It could be scabbing like the first poster said, OR you could be having an allergic reaction to the ink OR it could be infected (even if it's not 'oozing'.)

You should use an anti-inflamatory cream on it, like a diaper rash cream for babies. Don't use an anti-septic cream just yet (if it does turn out to be infected, then by all means use one) as this does little for the swelling and drains the colour. Keep your cream in the fridge - that'll make it feel nice on the burning sensation. Apply about 4 times a day if you can. Don't use any kind of covering or dressing on it. Wash your skin as you would normally - you don't want any dirt getting into an open wound.

Keep this up for a few days...possibly a week and if it's still no better then see your doctor.

  3. lmfao at the thing about ant ink...

idk what to do but my advice is don't get any more tattoos. :D

  4. Sounds like they used "ant ink" on your tat. basically the ink gets fertilized by ants and then you have ant eggs under your skin. I'm not a doctor or anything though.

  5. You did not say what you have been using for your aftercare, but if you are using any ointment, stop right now. If you have been using something like Neosporin, you could be having an allergic reaction to it. If that is the case, little pimple like bumps form and you can loose color from it.

My advise is to keep it very simple at this point, wash it with antibacterial soap (using just washed fingers only), pat dry with clean paper towels, air dry a minute or two, apply a thin coat of unscented Lubriderm (this may sting in the early healing stages, but just for a moment or two). Lubriderm has healing properties, and you should not have any adverse reactions to it. Hospitals use it. If it seeps, pat with clean paper towels. I would also take prescription strength (3 tablets equalling 600mg. of ibuprophen every 6 hrs. for 24 hours.).

Keep your tattoo out in the air (not sun) if possible. Elevate it if possible. If after a few more days, it doesn't calm down, I'd check with the artist. If it gets worse, check with the artist.

It is probably o.k. You could possibly be having a reaction to one of the dyes, if it is colored (especially red). Usually, after it heals if you have to have it touched up, your body will then accept it with no problem. Your tattoo will go through different phases, just continue to baby it, and do not pick at it, over moisturize, or expose it to sun. (sunblock when it is healed)

Finish out your excellent aftercare for 2 -4 wks. until it is healed to the point that it feels like skin and doesn't hurt to bump it. If you need a touch up, go to your artist at that time.

Here is a site filled with info.:

    good luck

  6. Check out these websites for information...if you still are unsure, I would go back to whoever did your tattoo (assuming they're a reputable business, they will probably know if it's serious) and you may still want to double check with a doctor!  Hope this helps!
