iva had a tatoo on my left shoulder for over 3 months now. its completely healed, and had been that way for a while. tonight i felt my back itch and started to feel some bumps right over my tattoo. what could this be? can it be a coincedence that a bug just bit my tattoo a couple times, being attracted to the color?

  1. It may either be some light scarring that occurs naturally under the skin as a result from tattooing or perhaps a few pimples have started to grow.

Tattooing can be traumatic for certain kinds of skin and that may increase scarring under the skin or the occasional pimple.

  2. i have had my tattoo on my back for 6 years and it still itches sometimes. and occasionally you will feel bump that feel like mosquito bites. i think it is normal

  3. Could be ingrown hairs, pimples or just the bug bites I don't think your dying.

  4. Ive had my tattoo on my back for 5 years now and still to this day, usually when it's hot out, my tattoo feels a little raised/bumpy. It's completely normal. =)

  5. im a tattoo artist and i can tell u it is normal..

many people including myself at times, get pimples on their tattoos which can become quite sore and itchy. dont pick them or pop them as the colour in that area will fade.. just leave them and they will go away eventually..

mozzie bites are also common, they wont affect your tattoo at all, like the pimples just leave them and they will vanish.. dont put clearasil or any other product like this on them either, as colours will deform.

  6. The bug bite thing is not likely. I've gotten bumps, and whole raised outlines from tattoos that have been there for years. Not sure why, just sometimes they do that. Go Figure.
