My teeth are decently straight but..?

there a kinda big gaps in between them, and my dentist (who isn't very nice or helpful with questions like this) said braces would be too much for such an easy problem. soo do you think like, a retainer or something would help? i just feel braces are over the top for the prblem- not overbite or anything crooked. and invisilign is kinda expensive for hat i want, its just a clear form of braces ya know. so tell me what you think

i think braces. retainers retain your teeth. The braces will pull them together.

retainers are for retaining the teeth that's why you get them AFTER braces i say if you have large gaps you need braces go to a orthodontist

So what did he suggest for 'such an easy problem'....he is the one you are paying for the expertise in YOUR situation....the people on YA, don't have a clue as to what would work in YOUR situation....you need to explore your options with YOUR dentist.  If you do not like YOUR dentist, you need to find one that you like and will trust with his recommendations for YOUR situation.

I agree that you should see a new dentist and make an appointment with a local orthodontist.

Sometimes they can fix a problem like that within the day in one visit! They have special tools to use for minor problems.

Also some people I know never had braces, they only had retainers because thats all they needed! So go see someone else to get a second opinion because you want the best option for your teeth!!! Good luck!

If you have big gaps in your teeth you should see an orthodontist. Your dentist just wants to make more money by putting bonding on your teeth.

I think you should definitely get a new dentist. Also, the Hawley kind of retainers(metal ones) may be able to fix your teeth. Hawley's can fix small problems.
