My teeth are killing me!! What else can I do??

I'm almost done with braces, but yesterday they really tightened my bottom braces. I took 1000mg of extra strength tylenol yesterday morning, another 1000 at night, and i just took another 1000 right now. My teeth are still killing! I used ice too and it numbed it for a while, but the pain just came right back.

Is there anything else I can do? Or should I just wait it out? (what I usually have to do)

  1. You can go back to the dentist maybe for free and get it re adjusted... They would like to know call them..

  2. Wowww, That SUCKS, I'm sorry u have to go thru that, but they r SO worth it in the end. OK Maybe If mix Salt && Water  && do that, it shld help, if not maybe ur body has grown Immune to Tylenol. use another pain killer, Motrin is STRONG but it cn't b used for long periods of time, Not good 4 u.. Advil? or Jus wait it out I'm guessing.Good Luckk to u!

  3. use some kind of num med.

  4. Instead of taking all that paim medication (which is harmful to your liver) my suggestion is clove oil.You can find it in the drug store. Pour a liberal amount on a piece of guaze and place the gauze against the sore areas.

  5. Maybe some orajel will help

  6. My suggestion to you would be to take Motrin or Ibuprofen instead of Tylenol. Motrin is wonderful for dental pain and it also works for inflammation, which is what is probably causing the pain. You can take 800mg of Motrin twice a day and be safe. Don't take anymore then the recommended dose. Also by taking all that Tylenol you are risking damage to your liver. Tylenol breaks down and is filtered through your liver and by taking more than the recommended dose for a period of time can cause damage.

Also exercise your mouth....I know that might sound crazy, but open your mouth really wide, smile really big and make crazy faces....Trust me..this will help. My son had braces and we had to do the same thing with him. Good luck with the braces. Let me know if you get relief.
