Is that considered a fever? Should I not go to school with that temp? I know it isn't high? But I am just wondering school regulations

i generally run a temperature of 97.2ish. I am not trying to get out of going to school at all. I have a lacrosse game tomorrow i want to go to, but idk if i should go...i have a throaty cough, stuffy nose, and general weak and tiredness, and occational nausea, but never have thrown up

I don't WANT to stay home...my mom doesn't need to be convinced. My mom is trusting if i say i don't feel good she won't take my temperature. I was just asking. I need no excuses to convince my mom to let me stay home

  1. Normally you should be at 98.6 degrees.  Thats give or take a degree for accuracy of the thermometer.  By going to school with all your symptoms, you will more than likely get sicker.  Your body needs the rest to fight off whatever is trying to make you sick.  I'd see what I felt like before the game and go from there.  Take some vitamin C.  Drink orange juice or eat an orange and take some non-drowsy cold med.  I dont think a fever is what you should be concerned with

  2. Your body's temperature ranges from 96 degrees to 99 degrees and that is considered 'normal'.  Schools usually do not send you home or have you not come in to school unless your temp is 100.6 or greater.  At least that's the way it is here in Wi.

  3. It doesn't matter about school policy; it matters how you feel.  I usually have a low body temp, so I feel feverish at 99. I don't miss school unless I feel like I need quick access to a bathroom or need to be unconscious.  Anything short of that, I take meds. and go on with my day.
