My singing voice isn't sounding the best as it has, I mean it sounds great but I want to improve the sound quality. Sometimes when I sing it sounds strained and it sounds like I am singing a little sharp.

  1. First off, make sure you warm up with some lip rolls and scales. I strongly recommend Eric Arceneaux's videos on youtube for vocal warmups. If you don't warm up, or if you sing to often, your muscles will become fatigued more easily due to tension, and you won't sing with the same technique that you began with, and you will have to strain to hit high notes.

Relax is the best advice I can give otherwise. I don't know how much you know about the voice, but you have 3 main registers-chest voice-your talking voice, head voice, which is when you sound like a girl (similar in range to falsetto, but not breathy like falsetto) and the mix voice, which is a combination of the 2. When you strain, your not entering into your mixed voice properly. To be able to sing high notes without strain, you should practice singing scales that take you from your chest voice to your headvoice in a relaxed manner. Again, check out Eric Arceneaux on youtube. Breathing is also really important, not for power opera sounding singing, but for relaxed your throat. If you don't breathe in a relaxed natural way from your diaphragm, you will overuse your throat=strain. BTW I am jealous or your tenor, im a bass baritone and i love classic rock :(
