Okay. Um don't EVER EVER broadcast in your writing ("i'm going to tell you about" and stuff like that) or refer to the paper. Start off with an interesting statistic, like the number of drowning victims that are unsaved each year to grab the reader's attention! And then elaborate from there in an organized method. Be sure to have a clear thesis. What exactcly are you writing about swimming? Why to compete in the sport? The different strokes? The team experience? Be sure you're writing is organized, and compact.
