  1. not sure but you need to get to the doctor..it could be something serious

  2. I don't understand why you feel you can't confide in your parents, especially since you're not sexually active.  You really must make your parents aware of your condition so that you can receive proper medical treatment.  Delaying this could cause you to have long-term problems.  Please let your parents know what's going on with you.

  3. Hello,

    I'm sorry about this.

My guess is that it is the skin of your ball-sac which is the trouble.  If you had a t******e infection, the balls (sorry, testicles) inside would be swollen up, and also painful when you squeeze them.

There are two main possibilities, if I am right that it's the skin.

The first possibility is a skin infection with a 'yeast' germ.  This is called 'Thrush.'  It is not a sexual infection.  It affects skin which is damp, because it is sweaty.  It's quite common and you can get it in the armpit or the cleft between your buttocks, anywhere where there is a skin fold, in fact.  Women get it too.

The second possibility is a skin infection with a fungus.  This is called Ringworm (although there is no worm involved), or Tinea, (pronounced TINN'' -ee- a).  It is not a sexual infection. It affects skin which gets damp, because it is sweaty, just the same as Thrush does.  It's quite common and men often call it 'Jock Itch' because it is itchy, and affects the area covered up when you wear a 'Jock Strap' or ball-bouncing support.  Women can get it too.

I can't tell you which it is, but neither is serious, nor something you should be ashamed about.  I bet your Parents have had one or the other in their lives.  I certainly have.

Thrush is easily cured by 'Lamisil' cream, (also known as Terbinafine cream), and so is Ringworm, so long as it is not too bad.  You can get Lamisil at the Pharmacist's without a prescription.  (I have no financial interest in Lamisil).

I have looked for some pictures of each to attach to this post.

    * * - Thrush tends to look pink and moist, and be sore rather than itchy.

    * *  - Ringworm tends to look dry and scaly, and be itchy rather than sore.

It could be a bacterial skin infection, too,  but probably not.

I don't think Soframycin will fix it.  I should stop that one.

I hope this is of some help.

    Best wishes,

    Belliger  (retired uk doctor)
