  1. I believe your question specifically says 'to the UK'. One assumes that your are a UK citizen, or has the leagl right to stay here. In that case, you need to spell out in your appeal the reasons:

    1) why your wife is visiting the UK

    2) photocopy or original of proof of employment in Thailand ("To whom it may concern,  This is to certify that Mrs T.... is an employee of our company for X years and has taken 3 weeks leave to visit her relations in the UK. She will be returning to work with us on her return." Signed by Employer)

    3) Copy of marriage certificate.

    4) Copy of lease on property in Thailand with her name on it.

If possible, get a UK citizen to act as guarantor that she will not attempt to stay in the UK. This could be a minister of religion or a solicitor, or someone who knows you well. It may be difficult, but if she has already bought the airplane tickets, it would help if it was a return ticket. Enclose a photocopy of it.

  2. If your originally from Canada its getting pretty hard to get your spouse into here even for a visit. Don't know about USA though. Over here I had a Vietnamese wife of 5 yrs. Still not allowed over here unless she's got something to offer, like being a Dr., Nurse etc. Govt doesn't trust anyone anymore. So friend welcome to the free world where you have all the freedom in the world.

  3. I'm presuming you're British. Try the Immigration Advisory Service.

    www.iasuk.org

They have offices throughout GB and are a non profit making charity. They charge fees but are only kept to a minimum and they are all qualified solicitors and always know the latest changes to anything. They are very good. I am married to an immigrant, so that's how I know of them, me and my husband have used them.

  4. Not sure why you have been refused. The embassy will usually tell you, but why not use a Spouse Visa, since you are married and she is your wife right?

The embassy might want proof that you are returning, such as return flight details. Evidence of bank statements or the support of employer or referees.

We used a Visa Agency when my Thai wife joined me in the UK , so you can try many of these. We used TSL which is within walking distance of the embassy. If you want me to I will find their email.
