  1. You must get the fleas off those babies. They will suck their blood and make them anemic fast.  The thing is you must make it an all out assault. The fleas started somewhere. Maybe with mom bringing them in from outside. But be that as it may. First take all bedding and wash in really hot soapy water and clean the box with alcohol. Then wash mom and babies with palmolive soap. Pick off as many fleas as you can with tweezers or nails.  This will need to be done several times to get rid of them. Then the next day you must do it again because the eggs hatch out. I would not use flea shampoo as that will go over to the babies when they nurse.  Then remove everything that breathes air out of the house and flea bomb the house. Next spray the yard every week for 3 weeks to get rid of the fleas there.

  2. go to the vets and get a frontline spray this product you can use from 2 days old its more expensive but it is safer and works much better than a local supermarket products good luck with the little 1`s

  3. Don't EVER use Hartz products. I had a kitten die in my hands because of that nasty stuff!!!!

Lesson learned, I use a flea comb to get most of them off manually, then Frontline is the best.

  4. Only your Vet can give you the correct stuff for kittens. Fleas can kill kittens so be sure you kill fleas soon. Good luck!

  5. First off and most important: NEVER use any flea medicine you buy at the super market! Nothing from Hartz or Sargent's! Their products have been linked to seizures and death in numerous dogs, cats, puppies and kittens!

    That said try the following:

Give Mom and babies a bath using dawn dish soap (either the regular blue or lemon only!). Yes I'm serious, dawn dish soap! It kills the fleas and isn't toxic to even the smallest kittens. Then take a flea comb and comb off any remaining fleas, dipping the flea comb in a bowl of water with a few drops of dawn dish soap in it. Make sure you dry the babies VERY well and keep them warm after washing.

Remove all their bedding and vacuum it thoroughly and wash and dry in the washing machine. Vacuum the area thoroughly to remove any fleas.

Flea infestations can kill kittens very quickly. I had a friend recently lose a litter of rescued kittens to fleas. Plus they can get tapeworms from l*****g the fleas and ingesting them. This is also very bad for kittens and Mom too!

You can get a flea preventative for Mom such as Frontline or Revolution (there are a few different products, your vet will decide which is best). You can put this on Mom, and the benefits will help the kittens too. When they nurse on her, they will get a small dose of the medicine and it will help repel fleas for them as well.

Good luck with these little ones!

  6. You can use a tube of "frontline" on the MOTHER only, and since they babies still nurse from their mom at 3weeks, it will also kill the fleas on them, not sure how it does that but it was a suprising discovery we noticed awhile back, with eat liter of kittens we've had, it did it with them all! But make sure you only put it on the mama cat.

  7. Take them to the vets imedatly, its not good for the kittens . But dont go to a normal shop and by flea spray it dosnt do anything , just take them to the vets and they will give them some tablets or spray , it about 2-4 days they should be flea free!
