My mom found a stray kitten that was left in a yard and we took her in we decided she may be about 3 weeks old since she has teeth and can walk and can be playful. We've been feeding her formula and she eats a lot and she meows when she has to pee so we help her do that. but she hasn't gone number 2 yet aka pooped yet. Is that normal? if not how can we get her too?

  1. very young kittens need help with no 1s and 2s,wet a cotton ball with warm water and rub gently on her u know what.

  2. she might have been dehydrated, when that happens the p**p inside her is going to harden so she cant p**p it out, give it a day or 2 and if shes not eating or drinking, then she is having a problem and you need to take her into the vet.

  3. yes.  It is pretty normal for a stray kitten that young to not have a bowel movement for a few days after being found stray.

She is using all the food to rebuild her stores.

If she has teeth, chances are she is a little older than you think.  You can try introducing solid food into the formula to help fill up her tummy and keep her fuller longer.  something finely ground.  kitten foods usually fit that bill.

to help her, you can try tapping on the a**s after you stimulate her to urinate.  For some reason the tapping helps when rubbing fails.

    good luck! :)

  4. get her to the vet

  5. When you help her urinate, I am assuming you massage her area so she can go.  You will need to do the same for her rear.  Take a wash cloth, wet it and rub like a momma cat would clean her child, so not hard but not too soft... this will stimulate her and help her go.   Good Luck!  We found a 3 day old kitten once and had to be Momma to him... he's now 3 and you'd never know he didn't have a cat as a momma!
