  1. Yes he can fly.

    Don't get the plaster wet.

Contact the hospitals orthopaedic dept and ask about waterproof plaster covers.

    Buy one and use it!!

  2. There is no problem.

People fly with a lot worse. If in doubt, pick up the phone.

If you need a new cast, take your NHI card, (get one NOW if you have not got one - otherwise you will have to pay), to your nearest CAP, (Social Security GPs' centre).

The Salou CAP is at C/ Carrilet, 12.

You can find them on the Catsalut website.

  3. Well can't you phone the people you have your travel insurance with and tell them your situation.

Because if he sustained any further damage to his wrist and you didn't declare it then he won't be covered at all.

  4. you will have to phone the airline you are travelling with and find out if he can fly some air lines let you others wont and if you inform the insurance company they may cover him for treatment if its needed ....go to a disability shop to see if they do a plastic blow up cover for your sons arm  to protect from water ...i got one from there for my mums leg but not sure if they do small ones for kids but its worth a try ....enjoy your hols if you get the go ahead ,,,,,,,,

  5. Don't worry he won't be the first person to be travelling with something broken. Phone up your insurance tell them the situation, see what they say. If they won't cover him you may be able to pay a bit more on your policy that will. Also do you have an E1-11 card, this entitles you to free treatment whilst travelling in the EU. I don't know if it will cover you in this situation but it is worth finding out. You can get covers for his arm so he can still go in the pool without risking getting it wet. As soon as you get there ask at the hotel you are staying where the nearest hospital is so if you do need to go you know where it is. I've seen people on hols with broken arms, legs all sorts. It's just a case of being prepared before you go.
