My throat has been hurting me. ?

my throat has been bothering me for about a week now. It usually feels fine but sometimes when it breathe in it feels kind of like i have dust in my throat and sometimes it feels like i have mucus down there too. i ususally dont feel it but when i do i usually cough which sometimes makes it actually feel worse... its not really painful, just annoying, i have not been coughing up blood and do not have chest pains or anything... what could be wrong?

is the weather dry we you live right now? that could be a factor you may just need your tounicls out
